Probing Brain Tissue and its Functionality by Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)

Tel Aviv university (TAU) and Tel Aviv Medical Center (TAMC) have established a joint venture with the purposes to lead high quality human brain research by applying various advanced imaging techniques for in-vivo mapping of the brain. The unit will bring together brain- researchers from both centers and bridge between basic and clinical aspects of neuroscience.

Goals:

1) Explore the functional organization of the human brain in relation to various behaviors (e.g. perception, motion, cognition and emotion) in healthy and clinical populations.
2) Develop new approaches using combined imaging techniques for mapping the human brain.
3) Encourage interdisciplinary flow of ideas and collaborative studies between clinical and basic neuroscientists.
4) Advance and support teaching programs and periodical scientific meetings on topics in cognitive and imaging neuroscience.
