Facilities - Tel Aviv Sourasky Medical Center:

Magnets:

The MRI department is equipped with two whole body magnets. The first is a 1.5 Tesla GE echo speed, Signa Horizon LX 8.3M5 system. This system is used mainly for clinical examination, and is partly dedicated to research. The second is a 3 Tesla magnet, GE VH/I currently being installed. This system will be dedicated to research.

Equipment:
The scanner room of the 1.5 T system is fully equipped for clinical population needs, including an anesthesiology machine (Markomed MRI).

Stimulation equipment:
Visual stimulation - The stimuli sequences are generated on PC and projected via an LCD projector (EPSON MP 7200) onto a translucent tangent screen located on the head coil in front of the subject's eyes.
Auditory stimulation - The stimuli sequences are generated on PC or a regular CD player and are played via headphones.
Response box - tracks subjects' responses during tests. All equipment is MR compatible.

Computational resources:
Our site is equipped with a GE workstation - ADW3.1 - for data analysis and registration of the MRI data with CT images. Three SGI O2 computers are available for off-line processing of the functional data, and for programming new sequences for the magnet. In the lab - an additional 15 high-speed PC's and a Windows 2000 server are available for research. Functional data analysis is processed using 'BrainVoyager' and 'SPM' software packages, while 'Matlab' software is used for off-line processing of data obtained from advance techniques.
